About Us

The Wings of Mercy vision began years ago when founder Roger Molera was at college in India. A devout Christian, his dream was to make a difference to the lives of Kenyan adults and children living and dying in poverty.

Wings of Mercy is a community based organisation working in many of the slums surrounding the city of Nairobi. Millions of people including a high percentage of children live in poverty in the Nairobi slums.

Wings of Mercy works with communities based in the Nairobi slums and surrounding villages.

Wings of Mercy empathises with the plight of the oppressed, under- priviliged and vulnerable members of communities by creating an enabling environment for positive change. This is through building and establishing value systems, and institutions and by empowerment, making our world a better place to live.

We aim to impact positively on communities living in difficult conditions through sharing information, training and empowerment.

Our short term objectives are to:
i) Provide training seminars for those infected and affected with HIV/Aids.
ii) Mobilise communities in awareness campaigns on health related isues.
iii) Network with various relevant stakeholders on issues of community development with a view to assisting the poor and improving their lot.
iv)Initiate income generating activities and projects to assist the community especially the youth and women, to be self reliant and productive citizens.
v) Provide spiritual and psychological counselling using holistic approches.

Our long term objectives are to:
i) Establish community based vocational training centres for skills development and technical training.
ii) Establish community based educational schools and health centres.
iii) Build rehabilitation centres for street children and drug abusers.
iv) Establish orphanages and children's homes.
